I love Pinterest!!! It is one of the greatest inventions ever! It was absolutely made for people like me! When I was young I would tear out recipe and craft ideas from magazines. But how do you organize it? I had a binder that was full of magazine pages that had I had torn out and then tried to put in some type of topic order. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a recipe that you know is in a stack of papers and that’s if you can even remember saving it? Yeah, Pinterest it great! But with that in mind……Have you ever tried something to make or cook something that you saw on Pinterest?
Pinterest Wins
Sometimes I see something on Pinterest and I think “I have to try that.” I’m really good at procrastinating trying things. (I already explained this in another post on time.) So I actually made a board called “Tried This.” While there are quite a few things pinned in that board there is no where near the number that I have under my 100+ other boards. (I don’t like to have too many pins under any board because then it becomes too many to search through to find something I need. For example I have a “Halloween” board but I also have a “Halloween Treats,” “Costume Party,” and “Pumpkin Patch” boards too.) I just got sucked into looking at my boards…..There are a lot. If you don’t believe me check out my Pinterest page.
Anyways I’m getting sidetracked again. I’m not great at trying everything I pin but I have done some. Many have had great results. For instances I tried a chicken teriyaki rice bowl recipe that has become one of our families favorites. I’ve also made Valentines and Halloween costumes and playdoh and more from ideas and recipes that I have found on Pinterest that have worked out really well. My go to shower cleaner I found here too. I love it when a Pinterest idea works out!
Pinterest Fails
Okay so when a Pinterest idea works out it is great but it is soooo much funnier when they don’t. I love the “Nailed It” pictures. They are awesome! I have to admit to trying some ideas that didn’t quite measure up.
For my daughters birthday party one year, I saw these really cute owl cake pops that I thought would be perfect. I guess if they looked like ones in the photo they would have been perfect. Even though the directions seemed simple enough mine still turned out looking like….I don’t even know what they looked like, they just didn’t look like the cute owls they were supposed to be. Of course I did not take a picture of those. I also tried a Chik-fil-A copycat recipe. Uh I don’t know what Chik-fil-A restaurant they went to but it did not even almost taste like it. At all. It just tasted like regular chicken nuggets. They were fine but don’t call them a copycat recipe if they definitely are not.
What About You?
Have you ever had a Pinterest win or fail? I have decided that I am going to start documenting thru pictures my wins and especially my fails. Like I said those are the funniest. I hope that you try some of the things that you have saved on Pinterest. Win or fail you are at least in the game. I’m ready to be in the game. Bring it on!
